The fourth church built at Manakintowne by the Huguenots.

  2. Huguenots, havn't heard this is a very long time. The ancestors of my father were Hueguenots ( Levasier ), but I do not know much more than that they came from France to Germany. Maybe I should research this, but wouldn't even know where to start. Anyway, this is a beautiful setting indeed.

  3. I had Huguenot ancestors on both sides of my family. On my mother's side, they ended up in Switzerland. On my father's side, they came to Virginia in 1700. There is a newer church on the property, and some members of those original families still live in the area.
